Pavel has been providing mergers and acquisitions counseling for more than a quarter of a century. He has advised both domestic and foreign companies on strategic acquisitions, sales, mergers and de-mergers. Benefiting from many years of experience in cross-culture negotiating strategies, Pavel is valued for his ability to structure and negotiate complex transactions. He co-operates with our firm primarily on acquisitions, sales and restructuring projects and on transaction negotiations.
In the course of his career, Pavel has provided acquisition advisory in various industries in Czechia and Slovakia. In the food industry, he supported Fromageries Bel on its entry into the Czech and Slovak markets, he was involved in the acquisition of the largest Czech malt company Tchecomalt as well as in the sale of a significant equity interest in the milk producer Bohemilk. He has also led counseling teams on acquisitions and sales of IT companies, including the sale of a Czech IT business to an international IT group with a turnover of EUR 700 million. Pavel is also active as a coach for start-ups and has for example helped one of them to be sold to a mobile network operator. He has advised clients in the automotive and engineering industry, including a respected Swiss watch producer. Pavel can draw on his extensive experience in the field of wholesale and distribution companies, having advised for example Alliance Healthcare on its initial acquisitions on the Czech market. His field of expertise includes the energy sector as well, where he advised Electricité de France and was member of the counseling team on the successful privatization of the Slovak utility company Východoslovenská energetika. On behalf of the Prague Congress Center he negotiated the termination of its disadvantageous contract with a foreign operator of its hotel. Last but not least, he has also provided external counseling to the Ministry of Industry and Trade and to the Ministry of Agriculture.
For 10 years Pavel was managing director of BNP Paribas Corporate Finance in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Since 2007 he has been managing partner of the advisory company Dravot Carnehan CZ.
Pavel works also as a coach and mentor for company owners and top managers, providing support for the planning and realization of key strategic decisions.
Pavel is fluent in Czech, English and French and able to communicate in Russian.
